The L-2 was introduced in the early 50's and in use up through the 1980's. The lightweight L-2 was developed for Cool Weather Climates (50 Degrees Fahrenheit). Features included 100% wool knit collar, waistband and cuffs, a tab that the oxygen mask was clipped to, the original U.S. Air Force decal and epaulets that were used to affix officers' insignias.
